Personal Background
Family means everything to me. My husband and I have a beautiful daughter and two playful dogs that fill our lives with joy. We deeply value quality time - whether it's building memories with our little girl or hanging out in our backyard with our pets.
Growing up, we didn't talk about mental health until we absolutely needed to. When we finally sought therapy, it changed our lives for the better. This journey sparked my interest in social work and inspired me to become a therapist.
In my career, I've had the great opportunity to work with children, teens, and young adults in diverse various professional roles.
As a professional counselor, I've worked as an outpatient behavioral health therapist at a hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. I also worked for a community program that helps teenagers and families deal with custody battles and high-conflict divorces.
As a professional counselor, I've provided counseling to clients as a private practice counselor in Pasadena, Sugarland, West Houston, and Katy areas. And as a former educator, I appreciate the struggles teenagers face at school.
I've assisted teenagers undergoing a variety of challenges, from divorce and trauma to learning and mental health disorders. I've helped children, teenagers, and young adults overcome depression, self-harm, anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, body image issues, and more.
I've also seen how modern social pressures like cyberbullying and social media affect today's youth. This, combined with an understanding of changing societal norms, drew me towards becoming a clinical social worker.
I began this journey by earning a Bachelor's degree from Texas State University. After 10 years as an educator, I pursued a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Texas.
Each person's journey is unique, and I'm here to guide you towards positive change. I use a mix of different therapy method that are supported by research and shown to be effective. With these specialized therapy approaches, we will create a plan that's just right for you.
I combine techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy, all while ensuring you feel heard and valued along the way.
Building trust and connection with my clients is vital to me. I aim to create a space where you feel safe and comfortable and look forward to coming each week.
I believe in collaborating on the therapeutic goals and ensuring everyone involved feels heard and understood. This transparency allows us all to work together towards lasting, meaningful improvement in your life.
