Nina Lewis, LPC-A
Primary Therapist
As a therapist with expertise in child counseling, teen counseling, and young adult therapy, I am dedicated to guiding teens, emerging adults, and families through life's pivotal transitions toward resilience, connection, and lasting success.

My practice is informed by decades of professional experience, personal insight, and a proven track record of empowering high-achieving teens to manage stress and vulnerability, supporting young adults in building independent, fulfilling lives, and helping families rebuild trust and harmony amid change.

Professional Background & History
My foundation in psychology stems from an associate’s degree where I explored the neurological impacts of depression and anxiety on behavior.
I earned a bachelor’s degree with a focus on how culture—encompassing social, environmental, and familial influences—shapes brain development and emotional patterns, reinforcing my commitment to culturally informed care.

I earned my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. My master's degree provided a firm foundation to launch from in my passion of helping children, teens, and young adults heal and thrive.

With years of clinical practice in school settings and private practice, I have worked with children and adolescents ages 5–19 as well as with couples and adults.
My specialization centers on trauma-informed therapy for sexual abuse, alongside evidence-based treatment for ADHD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, anger management, emotional dysregulation, motivation challenges, and procrastination.

I excel in supporting high-achieving teens and college-bound young adults facing academic stress, performance anxiety, and life adjustments.

Additionally, I provide culturally sensitive therapy for couples navigating betrayal, communication breakdowns, and trust restoration—skills that extend seamlessly into family therapy to strengthen relational bonds.
But the greatest thing that it taught me was that what I excel at and my passion in life is in working directly with children, teens, young adults, and families in the therapy process.

My strengths as a therapist are in working with those struggling with:
-
Loss
-
Transitions
-
Anger Issues
-
Poor decision making
-
Suicidal ideation
-
Self-harm behavior

I am a Certified Trauma Resiliency Specialist (CTRS) and also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), & Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).
I look forward to meeting with you for an initial session and together we can begin the work together!

My Therapy Approach
I employ a holistic, integrative approach rooted in the biopsychosocial model, addressing the interplay of physical, emotional, and social factors for comprehensive well-being.
Where spirituality is an important part of a client’s life, I also incorporate this into my therapy practice as it can be a powerful support in supporting change.

Drawing from evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), etc., I collaborate closely with clients to craft personalized goals that build insight, resilience, and sustainable, long-term change.

Therapy, in my view, is a partnership that equips teens, young adults, and families with the tools to not only navigate challenges but to thrive with confidence and purpose.
