Fiona Cheyne, LPC
Specialist in Teen Counseling, Young Adult Counseling, & Family Therapy.
Fiona Cheyne is a dedicated specialist in teen counseling, young adult therapy, and family counseling with decades of experience supporting adolescents, emerging adults, and their families through life's challenges. Her warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth approach helps teens and families build resilience, strengthen connections, and move forward with confidence and hope.
"I have always enjoyed working with teenagers and continue to learn more every day about how to help them and their families realize they are not alone. Life can feel overwhelming, but together we can get through whatever challenges you are facing and help you move forward.
I am a proud mother of two daughters and a loving Granny to four grandchildren. They bring me immense joy and laughter while constantly reminding me of the profound importance of empathy, connection, and open communication—values that deeply inform my work as a counselor."

Professional Background & History
Born and raised in Scotland, I graduated from Stirling University in 1996 and have dedicated my entire career to working with teens, young adults, and families.
I began in the UK at youth centers and high schools, then spent 15 years in Sweden as a teacher and coordinator of student care and support. After moving with my family to Canada, I focused primarily on special education before relocating to Katy, Texas.
I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from Lamar University. Since 2020, I have served as a High School counselor, and I very much enjoy providing services as a professional therapist outside the school setting.
Throughout my extensive career, I have worked compassionately and patiently with teens, young adults, and families to help them thrive and make life feel easier.
As a certified trauma counseling and crisis specialist and anxiety and stress management specialist, I bring specialized expertise to teen, young adult, and family therapy.
I have helped countless young people and families navigate difficulties including grief, anger, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, school anxiety, family issues, friendship struggles, and trauma among other challenges.

My strengths as a therapist are in working with those struggling with:
-
Loss
-
Transitions
-
Poor decision making
-
Suicidal ideation
-
Self-harm behavior

My Therapy Approach
My approach is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. I work together with the teen, young adult and their family to set meaningful goals and have been trained in and use best therapy practices that have been shown to be effective—combined with a little humor when appropriate, a great deal of kindness, and focused confidence-building—to make progress feel achievable and lasting. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive space where teens, young adults, and families can heal, grow, and rediscover hope.
